When creative therapy can help

People often choose creative therapy when they want to explore emotions in a non-verbal way, express themselves safely, or work through challenges that are difficult to put into words. Unlike talking therapy, which can feel intense for some, creative therapy encourages sharing thoughts and feelings through art, music, or movement. It can be particularly beneficial for children, young adults, and anyone who identifies as neurodivergent.

Creative therapy can support a wide range of challenges, including:

  • Feeling stuck or unsure how to move forward

  • Anxiety, depression, or ongoing stress

  • Work-related pressure or burnout

  • Relationship difficulties

  • Bereavement, loss, or significant life changes

  • Coping with upsetting past or recent experiences

  • Difficult emotions such as anger, guilt, sadness, or low self-esteem

  • Managing a long-term physical health condition that affects mental wellbeing

Creative therapy at Rise

Our creative therapy focuses on you and your unique way of expressing yourself.

Each session is guided by a trained therapist and tailored to your interests, abilities, and goals. Creative therapy uses art, music, movement, or drama to explore emotions and experiences, helping you develop insight, coping strategies, and personal resilience.

Your therapist provides a safe, non-judgemental space where you can experiment, reflect, and explore in ways that feel comfortable.
